How to Import Historical Sleep Data from Samsung Health

This guide shows how to use Health Sync to move older sleep data from Samsung Health into Health Connect, so Sleep Charts can read it.

Historical data flow: Samsung Health can send current data directly to Health Connect, or historical data can be moved through Health Sync into Health Connect, then Sleep Charts reads it.
When do you need this? Use this guide if you want older sleep records from Samsung Health to appear in Sleep Charts. The normal Samsung Health to Health Connect connection usually syncs only new data.

Step-by-Step Instructions

Step 1: Install Health Sync

Install Health Sync from the Play Store on your phone.

Step 2: Choose the apps to connect

Open Health Sync and set Samsung Health as the source app and Health Connect as the destination.

Step 3: Enable sleep data syncing

In Health Sync, enable syncing for Sleep data so your historical sleep records can be transferred.

Step 4: Allow Health Sync permissions in Health Connect

When Health Sync asks for permissions, allow Read + write access in Health Connect.

Step 5: Start the historical import

Run the initial sync in Health Sync. After the older records are copied into Health Connect, Sleep Charts can read them.

How long does the import take?

Health Sync can take a significant amount of time to import historical data. For example, importing around four days of data may take approximately 15 minutes. Once the data is available in Health Connect, Sleep Charts reads it for visualization.
